Backcountry Basecamp at Sugarloaf
On Saturday and Sunday, April 1st & 2nd, Backcountry Magazine staff will showcase the newest equipment, including skis, skins, split boards, beacons, shovels, probes and airbag packs, all in a yurt-based setting located by the Flag poles at the Base of Sugarloaf from 9am - 4pm each day.
Sponsors will be providing free demos out of the yurt from 9am - 4pm each day. Please bring a valid ID and credit card. Anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult. First come, first serve.
The yurt will also feature a FREE video series, all are welcome.
On Saturday at 5 p.m., BASECAMP will host a party and raffle drawing at the Widowmaker Lounge to benefit Franklin County Search and Rescue. A community-based search and rescue team in Franklin County. FSAR is associated with the Maine Association for Search and Rescue and Maine Warden Service to aid and assist on backcountry search and rescue missions. FSAR has group specializations in areas such as ground and technical (rope) rescue.
Purchase raffle tickets now at the Downhill Supply Company and Guest Services. $10 per ticket, or at the yurt on Saturday of the event.
