The Sugarloaf Bike Park is open Friday through Sunday through June 28, opening on Thursdays starting July 1.

Sugarloaf Bike Park Trail Map
Providing 1,050' of elevation per lap via the Whiffletree Quad, the Sugarloaf Bike Park provides the perfect amount of vertical for a bike park. Our machine-built gravity trails are 2.5-3 miles long at a mellow grade, while hand-built enduro trails are naturally shorter and steeper.

Repairs, Tuning, and Installation
Our bike shop offers mountain bike service, repairs, and tuning during Bike Park operating hours with additional days depending on the season. You don't have to be riding the park to get your bike fixed or have new parts installed. All repairs are performed on a first-come, first-served basis. Our goal is to get you back on the trails as fast as possible.

Know Before You Go
To better understand the bike park's requirements, safety, and expectations, we encourage all participants to read through these guidelines.
You can get there from here—from the parking lot to the Sugarloaf Bike Shop.
- Bikers are to follow the wayfinding signs, traveling on gravel pathways along the left side of the hotel and the base lodge.
- You'll find the Sugarloaf Bike Shop on the second floor of the Base Lodge.
- HELMETS & PADS
Helmets are required on all downhill mountain biking trails. Full-face helmets, knee, and elbow pads are strongly recommended. Rentals are available by the day. - WHEELS
Wheels must be a minimum of 20 inches. Fat tire bikes are not permitted. - SUSPENSION
Bikes must have front suspension at a minimum. Full suspension is strongly recommended. - BRAKES
Bikes are required to have front and rear disc brakes. Coaster brakes or rim brakes are not allowed. - BIKE TYPES
Tandem bikes and bikes equipped with front-mounted or frame-mounted child seats are not permitted on downhill trails.
When it comes to downhill biking, choosing clothing that offers comfort, mobility, and protection.
- Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that protects against the elements while on the chairlift and trails.
- Avoid loose, baggy clothing.
- Closed-toe shoes are required—no sandals, flip-flops, or other open footwear.
- Flat soles with grip work best.
- Gloves are recommended for grip, comfort, and protection.
- Eye protection, including sunglasses and clear lenses, helps to keep dirt, bugs, and debris out of the eyes.
- Water Bottle or hydration pack.
You are responsible for avoiding objects and people.

Conditions change constantly; plan and adjust your riding accordingly. - OBEY SIGNS & WARNINGS
Stay on marked trails only. Keep off closed trails and features. Ride in the direction indicated. - BE VISIBLE
Do not stop where you obstruct a trail, feature, or landing, or are not visible. - LOOK OUT FOR OTHERS
Look both ways and yield when entering or crossing a road or trail. When overtaking, use caution and yield to those ahead. - COOPERATE
If involved in or witness to an incident, identify yourself to staff. - LEAVE NO TRACE
Respect wildlife, be considerate of other bikers & hikers, and pack out what you bring in.
Watch for Patrol Transfer Point signs along the trail.
When calling for emergency assistance, do your best to provide your location relative to these designated transfer points. Our Bike Patrol will utilize these locations as access points to provide assistance.
Bike Patrol is only available during bike park operating hours. Riding on bike park trails after hours is prohibited, though if an incident is to occur and emergency services are needed, always call 911 first.
Experience the Sugarloaf Bike Park from the Whiffletree Quad. To ensure a smooth ride for all, bikes will be loaded every 4th chair.
LOADING
- Walk the bike onto the platform and raise the front wheel.
- Push the front wheel into the bike clip on the chair in front of you.
- Wait and load on the chair behind you.
UNLOADING
- Unload chair.
- Grab bike from lift attendant.
- Walk down ramp.
Class 1 e-bikes are allowed at the bike park.
Uphill travel from the base area is not permitted. All bike park users, including those on e-bikes, must begin their ride via the Whiffletree Express lift.
We understand that sometimes your plans change after you've purchased your lift ticket or rental equipment. Cancellations made 72 hours prior to the date of your reservation will receive a full refund. If you cancel 24 hours prior to the date of your reservation, you will receive a Boyne voucher in that dollar amount on your online account. Unfortunately, if you cancel the day of your reservation, you will be charged in full.
