Building Maintenance & Grounds Keeping

Building Maintenance Technician

Full Time Seasonal 

Seeking organized, detail orientated, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player to join the Building Maintenance Team.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Performing basic maintenance on plumbing, electrical, appliances, furniture, and general building maintenance trades.  Must understand oral and written directions.  Must be able to work alone, work safely and have the ability to operate basic hand and power tools.  Must pass security screening prior to hiring. Must have reliable vehicle and hold valid drivers license. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

 


Summer Groundskeeper

Summer Groundskeeper  - Full Time Seasonal

Works as part of a team to deliver quality services to Sugarloaf property owners. These services include lawn mowing, weed trimming, pruning, raking, general clean-up, drainage projects, installing bark mulch, and more. The candidate for this position must possess a desire to deliver a quality product through care and interest in high-quality grounds-keeping, must be environmental aware and ideally has a strong knowledge of tree and plant types.


Resort Maintenance Technician

Resort Maintenance Technician
Full -Time Year Round

Maintaining and improving all aspects of resort maintenance. Responsible areas include the Base Lodge, Competition Center, Bullwinkles, village areas, hotel and rental program condos.  May also be required to cover and assist with Resort Property support duties including snow removal, mowing and landscaping.  Must have varied maintenance capibilities. Troubleshooting ability and ability to safely perform minor work on appliances, plumbing & heating, electrical, general furnishings, spas,  internal and external structures.   A positive attitude towards guests and others is mandatory.  Use of personal vehicle required - must be appropriate for terrain and weather.  Employee must possess their own hand tools.  Flexibility and availability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Provide grounds, landscaping, snow removal, activities and event setup, general care and maintenance, and custodial duties for all locations in the Resort maintenance areas including Base lodge and village areas, competition center and Bullwinkles building and Sugarloaf Mountain hotel areas.

Prep Cook

Sugarloaf is looking for experienced full time and part time cooks to join the food and beverage team. Cooks are responsible for preparation and presentation of a variety of menu items as directed by the kitchen or unit supervisor. You must have knowledge and ability to use a variety of standard kitchen equipment, as well as practice safe food handling practices. Required is the ability to stand for long periods of time, available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain composure and professionalism during pressure situations from high business levels and time constraints.

Outside Services Attendant

Outside Services Attendant- Full Time Seasonal

Sugarloaf Golf Club is seeking Outside Services Attendants to work at the #1 golf course in Maine. Outside Service Attendants are the first and last staff interactions the guests encounter while at the golf course. Customer service is the number one priority for Sugarloaf Golf Club and Outside Service Attendants play a key role in maintaining our high standards.

Job duties entail but not limited to managing golf cart fleet, maintaining practice facility, communicating with golf shop and course ambassadors, helping guests during arrivals and departures, maintaining bag drop, and other duties as assigned.

Outside Service Attendants work majority of their shift outside and the job requires physical effort throughout the shift. Outside Service Attendants will have to pick golf bags up to 40 pounds and walk/run up and down hills so conditioning is necessary. Morning shifts start as early at 5:30 AM and closing shifts are dependent on when last golf cart is off the golf course.

Sugarloaf Golf Club expects Outside Service Attendants to be reliable and energetic. Customer service is a major part of the job so highly personable is necessary.

Must be able to work Evenings and Weekends. Primary job duties include cleaning and stocking designated areas such as lobby, public rest-rooms, public areas, and all back of house areas. Daily interaction with resort guests in a courteous and professional manner. Must be able to complete job specific checklists on a daily basis. Successful candidate must be dependable, flexible to scheduling demands, ability to multi-task and service driven. Driver's license required with Travel Allowance for deliveries. Applicants with prior cleaning experience encouraged

Supervise all aspects of Sugarloaf Front Desk operations and provide direct assistance to the Assistant GM of Lodging.  Provide superior guest service in all guest and department matters while ensuring all guest service concerns are promptly resolved.  Responsible for staff hiring, training, scheduling, and inter-department communications in relations to front desks. Performs administrative and financial duties such as daily reports, rooming lists, accounts receivables and office supply inventories. Manage departmental expenses within budgeted guidelines.  Perform other duties as assigned or required of the position.  Excellent customer service skills required along with prior Lodging/Hospitality experience preferred.

Mountain Operations

Trail Crew

Full Time Summer Seasonal

Prospective Team Members must be in good physical fitness and able to hike 2-3 miles carrying 50lbs.  Work duties include chainsaw, brushsaw, and/or polesaw  operation as well as other trail maintenance duties including erosion control practice. Previous chainsaw operating experience is preferred, but not mandatory.  All hires will go through our own chainsaw safety course. Prospective Team Members must be team and safety oriented and have reliable transportation.  Work schedule is Mon-Thurs, 10 hr days, with flexibility to work around the weather.  Starting pay is $10. 


Lift Mechanic Technician

Full Time Year Round
Maintain, repair and assist in the operation of chairlifts by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and performing training to operators. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee's job is to get and keep guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensures proper operation of chairlifts and personnel by completing preventative maintenance of APU's, electric motors and line gear following manufacturers' maintenance manuals; troubleshooting malfunctions and training personnel in the proper operation. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and checking for overheating. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using come-a-longs, cranes, heavy equipment, rigging, hand and power tools; examining and diagnosing cause of failure and correcting the condition. Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventory and conserves resources by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate equipment, parts and supplies and using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Prepares operational and maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information. Maintains technical knowledge and continuity.
