Huge thanks to the runners, staff, spectators and local communities for another successful year of the Sugarloaf Marathon and 15K! The 2015 event on Sunday, May 17 was another smashing success, with the largest registered field in the history of the event.
With the event turning 34 years old next year, the Sugarloaf Marathon is Maine’s oldest continuously run marathon, drawing hundreds of runners from all over the U.S. and Canada. Registration for the 2016 race will open sometime in September of this year. Stay tuned for 2016 details.
Despite the mountainous surrounding, Sugarloaf's course is widely known as a fast course. The final 16 miles of the course have an elevation loss of 980 feet. It is common for runners to have personal best times on this course.
The Sugarloaf Marathon is an official qualifier for the Boston Marathon and USATF certified.
Special discount lodging rates have been reserved for event participants, check out the options here!
