Sugarloaf set to host AJGA Coca-Cola Junior Championship, August 18-21
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, ME - For the second year in a row, the nation's top junior golfers will gather at the Sugarloaf Golf Club for the 2014 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Coca-Cola Junior Championship, August 18-21, 2014.
The tournament will comprise more than 100 male and female competitors age 12-15, hailing from locations around the world.
This year's players to watch include returning female champion, Jiayu Kong of Arcadia, California, currently ranked number 66 on the Polo Golf Rankings. On the men's side, ranked 107 in the Polo Golf rankings, Kevin Conners from Downington, Pennsylvania, who has verbally committed to the University of Notre Dame; and Sam Dickey of Las Vegas Nevada, ranked 385, has verbally committed to play at the University of New Mexico.

The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. Many of the top golfers on the PGA and LPGA are former AJGA members, including Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, Davis Love III, and many others.
The Championship will run for four days, during which time the course will be closed to the public. A qualifying round will be held on Monday, August 18, with the first, second, and final rounds taking place on August 19, 20, and 21, respectively. The tournament field will be cut to a minimum of 50% of the field following the second round.
