Mountainside Real Estate boasts 17% sales growth in 2014
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - As Maine's real estate market continues to improve on the back of a rebounding economy, Mountainside Real Estate, the official real estate agency of Sugarloaf, saw sales growth of 17% in 2014, with interest continuing to surge in 2015, the resort announced today.
The office closed on 95 transactions throughout the year, with a total sales volume of more than $12.3 million. Of 146 total real estate transactions in Carrabassett Valley last year, 95 were performed by Mountainside Real Estate.
"We expect 2015 to be even better," said Sam Punderson, Mountainside Real Estate Agent. "January is already off to a strong start with more than $2 million in pending sales, as of January 31."
In addition to the rebounding economy, the year-over-year growth has been fueled by revitalized interest in new construction.
In 2014, the resort saw the construction of 4 units in the Timberline Lodges development, with more construction on the horizon in the Timbers, Timberline Lodges, and Fall Line developments. Many new single family homes are being constructed around the mountain as well.
"We're very pleased with the success coming from the real estate office," said John Diller, Sugarloaf's General Manager. "The team put in a lot of hard work in the last year and their sales reflect it."
